Misale ad vsum insignis ecclesie Sarisburiensis.... Paris: [typis Joannis Amazeur] apud Guillelmum Merlin, 1555. 3 parts in one volume, 2° (340 x 223mm), printed in red and black, woodcut Tudor arms and rose and St George on title, device on last page, large woodcut on a1r within a woodcut frame containing 2 smaller woodcuts in bottom compartment, 282 small woodcuts in the text including repeats, numerous large initials, woodcut music (the 2 canon leaves on vellum in facsimile, worming throughout, very severe at the beginning and quite scattered at the end, repaired in the first quire, title a trifle soiled). Late 16th-century brown blindstamped morocco over wooden boards, small gilt tool of the Crucifixion at centre of sides, gilt edges (rebacked and sides inlaid). Provenance: unidentified armorial bookplate -- Charles Butler (book-label) -- Charles Leeson Prince (large bookplate, dated 1882) -- Thomas Edward Watson (bookplate; by descent to the present owners).
