Volume I only [all published], 2° (351 x 215mm), engraved frontispiece and 100 plates, plans and maps (5 double-page and 2 folding) by Harris, Van der Gucht, Kirkall and others (a few plates lightly browned and spotted). Contemporary English red morocco, covers elaborately gilt in double panels of triple fillet and roll tools, with centrepiece built up from small stars and other ornaments, gilt edges (neatly rebacked with original spine laid down, corners bumped). Provenance: Sir John Ingilby (bookplate). FIRST EDITION, reprinted in 2 vols. in 1776 and 1817.
