A GEORGE II SILVER-GILT VASE AND COVER
APPARENTLY UNMARKED, CIRCA 1750
Of vase shape supported on a spreading foot with an egg and dart border, the detachable cover with a similar rim and a bud and leaf finial, engraved with a crest below an Earl's coronet - 5¼in. (13.3cm.) high, 8oz.
The crest and coronet are those of the Earl of Ashburham, probably for John, 2nd Earl of Ashburnham (1724-1812)
