A JAMES II SILVER TANKARD
MAKER'S MARK RUBBED, POSSIBLY R, PELLET BELOW POSSIBLY FOR ALEXANDER ROODE, LONDON, 1686
Of slightly tapering circular section, the flat hinged cover with a corkscrew thumbpiece, with a scroll handle, later engraved with a coat-of-arms, crest and motto - 8in. (20.3cm.) high, 30oz.
The later arms are those of the Dukes of Richmond, Lennox and Gordon
