The Morris Minor was the first production car designed by the great Alex Issigonis; between 1948 and 1971 more than 1.5 million of them were produced, initially with sidevalve engines and 'split' front windscreens. In 1953 came the Series II which, with other improvements, was given BMC's famous and long-lived 803 cc A-Series engine. Combining perky good looks with a lively performance enhanced by a crisp gear-change and well-judged gear ratios, in its day the Minor was regarded as one of the best-handling of small family cars.

The chassis number of this car confirms it to have originally been supplied as a four door saloon to the home market and finished in Mid Green synthetic paint. Dr James Hull purchased the car on 26th August 1995, and by which time the car was in very tired order and so was subjected to a comprehensive restoration, for which photographs of the work are on file. The car received a complete refurbishment of the bodywork, with new sills and then was stripped to bare metal and resprayed to the current black livery. Its interior was completely renewed in correct period style, by the Morris Minor Centre of Birmingham. Bills for this work accompany the car.

Since restoration the Morris Minor has seen regular use and continued to be maintained in good condition.
