The rectangular sliding gilt-tooled brown leather-lined writing-surface enclosing a coloured leather-lined well with a backgammon board, each side with flaps and a small mahogany-lined drawer, one with divisions, the other with a removable pen-tray, above an ebony and sycamore chessboard and crimson paper-lined dished work-basket below covered in chinoiserie patterned material, on a U-shaped support and quadripartite base with cabriole legs and paw feet with brass castors
29½ in. (75 cm.) high; 23¼ in. (59 cm.) wide, with flaps down: each flap is 6 in. (15 cm.) wide; 15¾ in. (40 cm.) deep
