This and the following two lots were collected by Colonel Archer Irvine Fortescue DSO during service in India (1907-12, North Russia (1918-1919) as Senior Medical Officer, Persia (1919-21), the North West Frontier (1921-23) as Commander of the Military Hospital in Kohat and 27th Field Ambulance, Razmak, Iraq (1923-9) and Kashmir & Punjab in 1933-1937. Colonel Irvine Fortescue collected these costumes as presents for his own children.
