Accompanied by report No. 43616 dated 21 September 2004 from the Gübelin Gem Lab stating that the pinkish-orange sapphire is of Sri Lankan origin, no evidence of heat treatment. The trade term used to describe the colour of this rare sapphire is Padparadscha

The name Padparadscha is derived from the Sanskrit/Singhalese word padmaraga (padma meaning lotus and raga meaning colour) a colour akin to the lotus flower
