FIRST EDITION of the atlas meant to accompany Pyogenic Infectifve Diseases of the Brain (see below). A landmark contribution to neurosurgery in which Macewen for the first time demonstrated etiology, pathology and successful treatment of middle ear and mastoid infections which often led to temporal lobe brain abscess in this period.
