HARRISON, William Henry (1773-1841). Partly printed check accomplished and signed ("W.H. & J.S. Harrison"), Cincinnati, 13 January 1834. 1 page, oblong (2½ x 6¾ in.), decorative types, three circular cartouches at left.

Harrison has crossed out the line reading "Cashier of the Franklin Bank of Cincinnati," and written in: "Cashier of the Office Bank Un. States, Cincinnati," and directs the bank on behalf of himself and his son, John Scott Harrison, to remit the sum of [$13.69] to Mr. Spencer.

John Scott Harrison (1802-1838), son of the future President, was the only man to be both the son of a President and the father of another. Among his 13 children was Benjamin Harrison, the 23rd President. The funds here may represent a joint father and son bank account.
