A PAIR OF FRENCH ORMOLU AND BRONZE BACCHIC GROUPS OF REVELLERS
FIRST HALF 18TH CENTURY, CIRCLE OF PIERRE LEGROS (1629-1714), THE ORMOLU BASES CIRCA 1775
Each on an integrally-cast rectangular plinth and gilt-bronze base of eared rounded square form swagged with laurel framing pounced panels and on fluted waisted pedestal feet, medium brown patina with lighter high points, also with traces of a translucent reddish brown lacquer, minor dents and scratches, the ormolu bases each with pierced hole to corner
40½ and 8 in. (19 and 20.3 cm.) high; 9¾ and 10 in. (24.7 and 25.4 cm.) high, overall (2)
