The shallow bowls applied with a frieze pierced with a brocade pattern, each supported three lion-paw feet issuing scrolling leaf handles, the porcelain components possibly adapted from cups and covers, one bowl and cover painted with pink roses on a gilt-speckled ground and diaper and oeil-de-perdrix pattern panels within matt-blue leaf scroll cartouches, the other with fruit and flower baskets in gilt lozenge-shaped panels divided by lesser flowerhead panels on a purple band
