Each of baluster form on stepped square base, with part spirally-fluted lower stem, beaded, reeded and rope-twist borders, the stem with foliage and vacant cartouches, the spool-shaped socket with detachable spirally-fluted shaped square nozzle, the sockets later engraved with two crests and motto with earl's coronet above, each marked on foot-rim and socket, the nozzles variously marked
11 1/8 in. (29 cm.) high
93 oz. (2,918 gr.)
The crests are those of Byng, for John, 1st Earl of Strafford G.C.B. (1772-1860). (4)
