A PAIR OF DIRECTOIRE BRONZE, ORMOLU AND PARIS PORCELAIN CANDLESTICKS
CIRCA 1795
Each with Cupid holding aloft a flaming torch with milled and engine- turned drip-pan and nozzle, on spreading cylindrical base with stiff-leaf borders, each lacking part of bow, each with paper label inscribed 'From Bruton Street February 1900'
11½ in. (29 cm.) high;
together with a pair of Restauration ormolu tazza, circa 1820, each with stiff-leaf gadrooned base above an engine-turned cylindrical plinth - 6¾ in. (17.5 cm.) high (4)

Almost certainly purchased by George Byng Esq. M.P. (d.1847) in Paris and by descent.
