Rectangular, the hinged flat cover engraved with two crests and motto with earl's coronet above, marked on base, also stamped 'Garrards Panton Street London'
4½ in. (11.4 cm.) high
15 oz. (472 gr.)
The crests are those of Byng, for George, Viscount Enfield, later 2nd Earl of Strafford (1806-1886)

Presumably commissioned by George Byng Esq. M.P. (d.1847) and by descent to
George, Viscount Enfield, later 2nd Earl of Strafford (1806-1886) and by descent.
