This revolving center table is conceived after the model that was supplied by François-Honoré-Georges Jacob (d. 1841), dit Jacob-Desmalter, for each of the Royal residences of the d'Orléans family. A table of this model, for example, was supplied to the Grand Trianon in 1837.
