THE GUERNSEY CUP, A GEORGE IV STERLING SILVER RACING TROPHY
Maker's mark of Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard I, London 1826
Campana shaped with acanthus cast handles and a band of fruiting vines, engraved to one side: "THIS CUP GIVEN BY HIS MAJESTY George the Fourth TO THE GUERNSEY RACES/June, 1829" and with a pair of racehorses with jockeys up to the reverse, 23 cm. (9 in.) high, 1282 gr. (41.2 oz.)
