the first shell engraved in relief and in a cameo style with an image of the ship and her principal dimensions, the second shell, with hues of mother of pearl, and engraved 'From the Great Eastern/Length 692ft Breadth 83ft Dep 60ft Tons 24000. The first coin in tin for the maiden voyage with an image of the ship on one side and engraved on the other 'The Steamship/Great Eastern/arrived/at/NEW YORK/June 28.1860/First Trip/From/England to America' and the second coin, in brass with a similar image to the first on one side and engraved on the other with 'Purchased on Board the Great Eastern/Tonage/24.000/Horse Power/2600/Length 692ft/Breadth/85ft/Depth 60ft/1860', and the guide book which is a reporter's account of the layout of the ship and the pricipal areas of interest. This is one of the earliest known passenger ship booklets
