Each of lobed oval form, the tureen with two shell handles enriched in gilding, each side of the tureen and cover painted with two figures training a horse around fences and posts in a river landscape, one figure mounted, the other with a whip and a long rope attached to the bridle, the similar scene on the stand with an addtional horse secured between two posts, within gilt interlocking foliate scroll borders suspending swags of foliage, the domed cover with a pink rose finial (slight chipping to underside edge of handles, rose finial stem lacking, slight wear to gilding, areas of wear to enamels of stand)
The stand 6 7/8 in. (17.5 cm.) wide

This kind of haute école decoration does not appear to be recorded in the literature of Fürstenberg, or indeed of any German porcelain manufactory in the 18th Century.
