A SEVRES CUP AND TREMBLEUSE SAUCER
1764, BLUE INTERLACED LS ENCLOSING DATE LETTER L, PAINTER'S S MARK FOR MEREAUD, INCISED 8 TO CUP AND 000 TO SAUCER
The cup of tapering form with an entwined foliate handle with gilt foliage terminals, painted with garlands of flower suspended from gilt loops below a border with two blue-ground white dot-ornament gilt diaper panels between purple and gilt bands, divided by two oval panels edged with garlands of laurel, each enclosing gilt dot-ornament about a purple flowerhead medallion, edged above with a blue band and gilt dentil rim, the saucer similarly decorated about a central well (wear to gilt rims)
