CIRCA 1740, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, PRESSNUMMER 6, PUCE , TO FOOTRIM
The centre probably painted by J.E. Stadler, with an Oriental lady standing on a mound flanked by insects in flight, an elaborate stylised fence and a flowering shrub, within a broad band of gilt interlocking scrolls at the well, the border painted by another hand with four estuary scenes with boats and galleons, the shores with figures, quaysides, barrels, packages and fortifications, within elongated Böttger-lustre band cartouches gilt with scrolls and dot ornament, divided by four triangular gilt panels with Böttger-lustre scale ornament and edged with gilt scrolls, within a gilt line border (small restored rim chip at 1 o'clock, scratching to surface)
