A PAIR OF DUTCH DELFT BLUE AND WHITE CHARGERS
CIRCA 1670-80, BLUE 5 MARK TO BOTH
Painted in shades of blue, each with four Oriental figures seated between pillars supporting a domed canopy suspending a large bell, within circular cartouches with foliage and crosses at intervals, the blue-ground borders reserved with radiating panels of symmetrical scrolls and foliage alternating with stylised landscape vignettes with Oriental figures, divided by narrow panels of flowers (very slight chipping and flaking to rims, one broken across and restuck with small associated losses retouched, and with restored rim chip at 10 o'clock)
