decorated with filigree work and granulation, a boss in each corner and a central circular garnet in setting, with later hook -- 1 3/8in. (3.5cm.) high, 11th-12th Century A.D.; a Byzantine earring, with rectangular openwork panel, decorated with filigree and granulation, wire below threaded with turquoise and gold granule beads -- 1 3/8in. (3.5cm.) high, 11th Century A.D.; a pendant gold earring, in the form of a stylized openwork amphora decorated with filigree and granulation, the neck with twin scrolled handles, around the base hang six miniature pomegrantate pendants, on hinged clasp -- 1 7/8in. (4.8cm.) high; a single gold earring, the front with a sheet gold figure of winged Eros, the head in the round with detailed hairstyle -- 2cm. high, both Parthian or Gandharan, circa 2nd Century B.C./A.D.; a pair of East Roman gold pendant earrings, the pear-shaped seed pod pendants with incised markings; and another, the single earring with a suspended gold wire 'cage' on extended wire, glazed composition bead and gold collar above -- all 1¼in.
