2o (283 x 180 mm). Title within rule border, woodcut arms, decorative woodcut capitals, a brief "Advertisement to the Reader" loosely laid in (100 x 115mm). (B1 with small marginal tear, without final blank, scattered spotting and marginal staining, several quires supplied from another copy, last leaf of index slightly shaved at fore-margin, affecting a few letters.) Modern panelled calf antique. Provenance: D. Goldsborough (early signature on title); Essex County Law Library (old stamp on title).

THE FIRST BOOK PRINTED IN ANNAPOLIS AND THE FIRST COLLECTION OF THE LAWS OF MARYLAND. Parks, the first printer to establish a press in Annapolis, later moved to Williamsburg (see lot 43) but maintained his Annapolis office and was printer to the assembly. The collection carries a full-page dedication from the printer to Charles Calvert, Lord Baltimore. The contents embrace the laws of the province from 1692 to 1727. RARE: Only one (imperfect) copy of the book has been sold at auction since 1975.
