1927 AUSTIN SEVEN 'CHUMMY' TOURER

Chassis No. A4/5427
Engine No. M 37739

By the year of production of this example the Seven was in its heyday. There were many options for coachwork, but the Chummy remained ever-popular and had evolved slightly to this form which is distinguishable by its upright windscreens, flat sided scuttle, and deeper hood arrangement.

This is a perfect opportunity to purchase a completely 'as-found' Austin Seven Chummy. Although stored for many years, the car remains ostensibly complete retaining its pram hood, scuttle mounted lights, and even the period accessory of a scuttle mounted bulb horn.

In addition to the car itself, the car benefits from retaining an old style log book from 1933, which confirms that the car was originally registered on 15th July 1927 under the auspices of the local Essex County Council. In those days the car was maroon and was owned by a George Bradley of Chelmsford, the log book charts the car through three further pre-war ownerships while it migrated to Wickford and then Leigh-on-Sea, by which time it was owned by John Alexander.

The car comes with log book mentioned and a modern V5 document.
