This remarkable Singer has been in hibernation for decades and was discovered in a farm barn earlier this year. Fortunately more care had been taken over its documentation, with the result that it retains a modern and old log book which have enabled Christie's to trace much of its history.

JN 96 was originally registered on the 23rd May 1930 with the local borough council of Southend-on-Sea. The log book is annotated to note that William Carson was the owner of the car from 1933 through to 1961, when it sold to another local gentleman, Peter Williams of Leigh-on-Sea. The Sharpe Family would have been the next owners.

As a result of its storage the car is in need of complete restoration, but it does appear to be substantially complete and so should make a perfect basis for such work.
Special notice
No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium, which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
