A fine Victorian collector's specimen cabinet,
in burr walnut with amboyna banding, box wood stringing and ebonised mouldings and roundles, the two front-opening door with recessed panels, lock and key, opening to reveal sixteen drawers in London plane with ebonised pulls, containing a variety of fossil and mineral specimens including: ammonites, trilobites, teeth (cave bear, megalodon, shark, mososaur), shells, sea urchins, sand dollars, coral, a fossil fish, belemnites, orthoceras, Dorset crinoid, dinosaur eggshell, branch slices, amber, two large beetles in resin and various rocks and gem stones -- 61.6 x 24.5 x 42.2cm. (24¼ x 9 5/8 x 16 5/8in.)
