A 19th-Century lacquered-brass Gould-type botanical microscope,
signed on the pillar Cary, LONDON, the tapering barrel threading into a limb atop the pillar with rack and pinion-adjusted stage and concave mirror, arranged to screw into a ferrule on the lid of the case, with four numbered objectives, lieberkuhn, live box, black and white disc, stage-mounted bull's-eye and forceps, two ivory-handled scalpels, brass tweezers, two ivory sliders, and other items, in a fitted and plush-lined tray in a mahogany case with two brass hooks and eyes -- 17.1cm. (6¾in.) wide
