stamped on the circular base R. & J. BECK LTD LONDON, with glass reservoir, wick lamp, cover with clear glass shades and condensor lens (support attachment missing) on a sleeve with sprung clamp moving up and down the square-section column, in a mahogany case with brass handle and key -- 33.6cm. (13¼in.) high; a lacquered-brass drum microscope, unsigned, with draw-tube focusing and plane mirror, in a pale mahogany case -- 18cm. (7 1/8in.) wide; a large six-sided prism clamped on an iron base, with a graduated aluminium tube, in a pale mahogany case -- 19cm. (7½in.) wide; a 34.5cm. (13½in.) high mahogany microscope case containing a variety of accessories including approximately 35 objectives by Leitz, Swift, Beck, Zeiss, Prior, Crouch and others unsigned, some oil immersions, some in canisters, six eyepieces, a bull's-eye lens, two mechanical stages attachments, five substage condensors, a Crookes' spinthariscope and other small items; and a card box with further accessories including three double and one triple nosepiece attachment, a circular stage, a substage aperture attachment, various collars, a drum microscope and other items (5)
