A large early 20th-Century heavy discharge induction coil,
with ivorine maker's plaque for HARRY W. COX & CO LTD ACTUAL MAKERS OF X RAY & ELECTRIC THERAPEUTIC APPARATUS 47 GRAY'S INN ROAD LONDON, W.C and further stamped PATENT No. 16926, with ivory switch/current reverser, six brass terminals stamped COII, CI (twice) and C2 (twice), with tension and contact screw to the spring, two brass terminals stamped N and P, two discharge pillars with vulcanite insulation holding two brass discharge rods with vulcanite handles, attached to the large vulcanite covered coil via two coiled wires, on a mahogany plinth base, the underside applied with original printed manufacturer's instructions for care and use (torn in places) -- 63 x 29.7 (24¾ x 1¾in.)
