'Taddy', a late Alpha Farnell teddy bear
with golden wool/mohair mixed plush, orange and black glass eyes, pronounced stubby muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed limbs with brown painted cloth pads, hump and bandaged wrist, 1950s --21in. (53.5cm.) high (general wear, pads rubbed and feet pads splitting)

Provenance
Taddy is from Tadworth Court, the country branch of Great Ormand Street Hospital for Children based in Tadworth, Surrey. He was the ward teddy bear and was used to demonstrate to children suffering from Cystic Fibrosis. For a while he was also used as the hospital's emblem.
