An unusual Steiff teddy bear
with rare brown tipped white mohair, blue and black glass eyes, pronounced muzzle, pink stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, elongated limbs with felt pads and hump, 1920s --19in. (48cm.) high (thinning of mohair to fronts of arms and tips of limbs, some general wear and fading, a few strands missing from nose and retouched in pink and a few holes in pads)

This actual bear appears in Per Cederholm's book Bamser 100 ar med verdens bedste ven, by Danish publishers Forlaget Olivia, on page the front cover, back cover, pages 6 and 8.

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium, which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.

Lot Essay

This bear, although he has the blue eyes and tipped mohair, is more of a traditional Steiff teddy bear, rather than a Petsy. It was probably a special order.
