A large collection of approximately 90 telegrams sent to Brando wishing him luck for the 1955 Academy Awards ceremony or congratulating him on his Academy Award win for On The Waterfront, 1955, senders include: Diahann Carroll; Rosemary Clooney; Lew Wassermann; Jack Cohn at Columbia Pictures; Jack Warner; Teresa Wright [Brando's co-star in his first movie The Men, 1950]; Gary Cooper; Irene Selznick; Stanley Kramer; and Stella Adler; accompanied a telegram from the President of the Academy Board of Governors, dated 1 February, 1955, inviting Brando as a possible nominee for the 27th Academy Awards to attend a press party...; and a telegram from Academy Director, Jean Negulesco, dated 9 March, 1955, telling Brando I am delighted that you have been able to accept our invitation to present one of the awards on March 30th...
