FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY STREETER: "To Jack and Ellie Striebing with best wishes Edward Streeter." Streeter's lively story of a father coping with the upcoming wedding of his daugther was made into two films; one in 1950 starring Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor and one in 1991 starring Steve Martin. The 1950 version was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
