LIMITED EDITION, number 888 of 1,000 copies signed by Wren. PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY WREN on his personal bookplate affixed to the front pastedown: "Mr. & Mrs. J.J. Hewlett with the author's thanks & best wishes. P.C. Wren." There is also a note on the front endpaper requesting that the book be returned to Hewlett at the Palace Hotel. Three movies were produced based on Beau Geste, the most well-known being the 1939 version starring Gary Cooper and Ray Milland.
