The early corniche case with rope twist engraving to the top with rope knots to each corner, foliate engraved handle and large escapement viewing aperture, later repeat button, further rope twist engraving to the glazed sides and to the base, the solid rear door with shuttered holes and engraved Bourdin Her du Roy 24 Rue de la Paix Paris within a foliate cartouche, the dial with a gilt mask engraved with foliage and strap work, white enamel Roman chapter disc with blued steel hands and signed Bordin Hr. Du Roi rue de la Paix 24 Paris, subsidiary seconds ring beneath XII, white enamel alarm disc, the movement with twin spring barrels, gilt escapement platform with club tooth lever escapement with flat three-arm gilt balance, strike/repeat/alarm on a bell on the backplate
