The massive case with large bow handle to the glazed top, bevel-glazed sides and rear door, the dial with engine-turned gilt mask to a white enamel chapter disc signed P & A. Guye London with Roman chapters and blued steel spade hands and subsidiary seconds, up-and-down enamel dial below calibrated 1-8, the movement with large rectangular brass plates secured by six vase-shaped pillars pinned through the front plate and with blued steel screws at the backplate, maintaining power to the chain fusee, high quality wheel train with five crossings, large gilt platform with high quality free-sprung cut bimetallic balance, blued steel helical spring and lever escapement, with winding key stand inside the rear door; together with the original(?) mahogany travelling box
