A rare Louis Philippe engraved gilt-brass grande sonnerie carriage clock with chronometer escapement, calendar and alarm

The one-piece case entirely engraved with scrolling foliage on a hatched ground, faceted glasses to the front and sides, similarly glazed flush-fitting rear door with chained gold stoppers in the glass for the winding and hand-set apertures, oval glazed aperture to the top panel engraved with trailing foliage and with levers for Gde. Sonnerie/Silence, Quantième, push repeat button, milled button engraved Remontoir for alarm opposite the square (lacking button) for Aiguille de Réveil, the dial with white enamel chapter disc having blued Roman chapters with blued steel trefoil hands, inner
concentric calendar ring, signed Breguet above VI, the gilt mask engraved with trailing foliage and with alarm disc below, the movement with four back-screwed pillars, large gilt platform with flat blued hairspring to cut bimetallic compensated balance and spring detent escapement, grande sonnerie strike on two bells on the back plate displaying steel arbors for the indirect wind and drive to the alarm, signed to the bottom left corner Breguet Nevue & Cie. Co. 1217; with Breguet certificate stating that the present clock was sold on 3rd September 1844 to Le Comte J. de Montalvo for 2200 francs
