The case decorated overall with line and foliate cut-brass inlay, the finned and chamfered top with gilt-metal flambeau finial surmount, ring handles with cornucopiae escutcheons to the sides with foliate pierced sound frets, resting on brass ball feet, the silvered engraved dial signed W. Johnson Strand London within the Roman chapter ring with delicate heart-pierced blued steel hands, geometric engraved spandrels, strike/silent lever above XII, the five pillar twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on a bell on the backplate engraved Johnson Strand London
