An unusual Victorian pair of rosewood wheel barometer with matching wheel thermometer
Richard Northen, Hull. Circa 1840
Each case with slightly gadrooned pediment and carved stylised leaf frieze, crossbanded in tulipwood with ebony and boxwood stringing, the trunks with fielded panels flanked by fluted columns and the bases with leafy carving, each also with convex brass bezel and flat glass to 12 in. diameter silvered dial engraved with a globe to the centre, and with brass-framed spirit levels below signed R. NORTHEN/Hull
