The case of typical McCabe form with reeded handle, bevel cut glasses to the sides and top inset with a push repeat button, the solid rear door with shuttered holes for wind, hand-set, strike/silent lever and escapement regulation, the silvered dial with Roman chapters and blued steel fleur-de-lys hands signed James McCabe Royal Exchange London 2290, the movement with five pillars, twin chain fusees, gilt escapement platform with three-arm balance wheel and flat blued steel hairspring to underslung lever escapement, hour strike and push repeat on a blue steel gong on the backplate with strike/silent lever and signed James McCabe London 2920; together with the original numbered bronze patinated winding key
