The case with large shield-shaped moulded frame with gilt foliate decoration and later gilt-wood finials, the trunk with breakarch door decorated with gilt Chinoiserie figures and a bird in a landscape, the dial signed Keele Sarum beneath the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with large and well shaped brass counter-poised hands, ring-turned brass shutter over the winding square aperture, the movement with A-shaped bras plates secured by five pillars and with anchor escapement; oval lead weight
