Octagonal on stepped foot, with curved sides, and moulded borders, the conforming detachable cover with octagonal finial, the sides engraved twice with a coat-of-arms, the cover twice with a crest, marked on base and cover

The arms are those of Chester, for Sir John Chester Bt. of Checkley, co. Buckingham (1666-1726), who succeeded to the Baronetcy on the death of his father, 15 February 1697/8.
