Slightly tapering bombé form on circular base, with two cast foliate scroll handles with grotesque mask terminals, the detachable cover with trumpet-shaped finial, the base and cover each repoussé and chased with a band of flowers and foliage, the base with stippled border and inscription 'VW VB 1666', the cover with 'VW 1666', fully marked on base and cover
