He studied at the South Kensington School of Art, winning an art teacher's diploma at the age of sixteen and was elected R.B.A. in 1896. His brother, Alexander Molyneux Stannard, worked very much in the same style, whilst his sister, Lilian, and his daughter Theresa concentrated more on garden views. The following eighteen lots give a very good overview of the breadth of works of the Stannard dynasty.
