Lot Essay

Related to a painting in the church of the Ognissanti, Florence, painted by Marchesini shortly before 1728. This drawing was, however, probably made in preparation for the print of the same composition engraved by Marchesini in 1728. The print is dedicated to 'Sigre Ridolfo Gianni Gentiluomo di Camera de S:A: Elct:le ka Scrma: Principessa Anna di Toscana Elettrice Palatina'. Marchesini was a pupil of Gabbiani and worked mainly in Florence and Pistoia.
