With its distinct marquetry of Vitruvian scrolls, this elegant table relates to others also stamped by Manser. A closely related example was sold Sotheby'’s, London, 26 June 1964, lot 129. Another table, with ormolu Vitruvian scrolls of nearly identical pattern was sold, Paris, 28 November 1978, lot 190 and is illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Le Mobilier Français du XVIIIeme siècle , Paris, 1998, p. 548, fig. B. The present lot also relates to a table stamped by Adrien Delorme, sold, Paris, 22 March 1995, lot 268.
