They have rebuilt and decorated houses in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, London, to name a few, and are currently working on an extensive project in Marrakech. In each instance the objects that inhabit each home have been chosen to suit the architecture and ambiance of that particular space. The following ten lots, therefore, represent a small selection - although certainly not in scale - of works of art that Christie's will offer for auction in the Summer of 2005 from their sublime 18th century Burgundian home. Entering their house in the region of Brionnais is a revelation to any aspiring decorator or follower of good taste. Contained within their elegant vision of the French rural idyll are objects and details of an almost exclusively neo-classical taste; as their colossal plaster bust of the Ludoviso Juno or the enigmatic plaster model of the Capitoline Antinous testify. Their eyes have, for the last 20 years at least, tirelessly scanned antique dealers, flea markets and auction houses worldwide forever searching for that perfect addition to a room or a home. Thus, when seeing even a small number of these objects displayed together, one gets a sense of the agonising consideration and painstaking practicalities they had to deal with in order to put this collection of objects together. Many of the ten lots offered in the following section are illustrated and have been written about in the June 2005 edition of The World of Interiors in the article entitled 'Vintage Burgundy'.
