Of flat bed construction, with dead beat escapement and countwheel strike (lacking bell), painted minute dial -- 25 in. (64 cm.) wide; with two substantial sectional lead weights and a wood rod pendulum; sold with a small pine door applied with a brass plaque inscribed THIS CLOCK WAS ERECTED/TO THE MEMORY OF WILLIAM LANSDOWNE/BEALE/OF THE MANOR HOUSE,/WALTHAM S. LAWRENCE,/BY PARISHIONERS AND FRIENDS. 1897 (2)
