A Louis XV/XVI transitional small ormolu striking lion clock, circa 1775
With pierced drum case, the swag-hung plinth applied with snail, frog and lizard mounts, the white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with blued steel heart and spade hands and steel arrow seconds, the short-duration movement with chain fusee going train with verge and balance escapement, spring barrel strike train, the movement housed within a bell, this applied with a false back plate engraved with a regulation ring and inscribed Slower/Faster, probably German -- 14¾ in. (38 cm.) high
